Hidden gem! Came here because of other reviews and was not disappointed. Food tasted as good as any small restaurants in Japan! Very unassuming on the outside but don’t let that fool you!

The place is very homy. The vibe is a little dark, but I think thats where the charm came from, it’s rustic and it feels original. Also its not really loud here, you can enjoy chatting with a japanese music in the background The food is great, i ordered katsu curry and fried salmon skin. 5/5 Also compared to other japanese cuisine nearby the area it is the cheapest you can get.

Another hidden gem in Sanur! At first I was sceptical about the ambiance, but once the food came out, it really blew me out of the water. The food was great, the sashimi is super fresh and even the ocha tastes nice too, which is hard to come by in Bali. It was too good to the point that I forgot to make a review and chow down to two of the sushi in the Oyakodon set. What makes it more interesting is the pricing, relatively cheaper than most Japanese restaurants. The only critique I would give is probably that they would need a little renovation, to freshen up the infrastructure. It doesn't really give a friendly first impression, even though all the staff inside was really nice. Other than that, truly an awesome experience!

Super duper nice! It’s always the restaurants that don’t look “fancy” that are the best. I personally love the wooden interior and simplicity of it all. The food was so delicious, I ordered a variety of things, agadashi tofu, nato, greens, sashimi salad and rice and for desert shaved mango Ice cream with a homemade mango sauce. YUMMMMYYY - all of it! I’ll be back!

This little place is awesome. The staff is wonderful and pleasant. I’ve been to it so many times and they are always consistent with their food. Probably the best Japanese food in town. I am partial to the pork katsu with rice. Again, highly recommend it. It has a great vibe to it.

I had a fantastic experience at Kokoya Japanese Restaurant in Bali. Everything was really good! I tried the ramen, salmon sushi, and tuna sushi, and each dish was delicious. The ramen had a rich, flavorful broth, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The salmon and tuna sushi were incredibly fresh, and the fish melted in my mouth with every bite. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. If you’re in Bali and craving quality Japanese food, Kokoya is definitely worth a visit!
